Intel Foundry Services continues to record dramatic losses: In the fourth quarter of 2025, the loss amounted to $2.51 billion on $4.5 billion in revenue. Since 2023, annual losses have accumulated to approximately $7 billion.

18A Node and Panther Lake as Beacons of Hope

Despite the financial challenges, Intel is banking on technological advances:

  • 18A process node: Next generation of manufacturing technology
  • Panther Lake: Over 200 OEM partners already committed
  • External validation: NVIDIA invests $5 billion in Intel Foundry

Strategic Realignment Under Pressure

The persistent losses are forcing Intel into a fundamental overhaul of its foundry strategy. The company must prove that the massive capital investment in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities can become profitable in the long term.

NVIDIA's $5 billion investment signals confidence in Intel's technical capabilities, but cannot resolve the structural problems of the foundry division in the short term.
